Vehicle Description This 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 is a very solid Muscle Car.
In 2019 the car's 400 engine was completely updated by boring the block.
030 over, installing all new engine components, including valves, springs, lifters, rockers, crankshaft, pistons, pushrods, etc A Mild Roller Cam was installed along with Pontiac 6X Heads which were built by Butler Performance.
The Heads were built with a 10:
1 Compression Ratio, and runs great on Premium Gas with no pings at all.
The complete engine was balanced by Darr Engines in New Orleans, La.
, Doug's Headers were added along with a new Electronic Ignition System.
Vintage Air Condition was installed during the upgrade as well.
All ball joints, idle arm, body mounts were replaced, and new Moog Springs in Front and Rear were installed along with new Bilstein Shocks.
New 225/70R15 Tires on 8 Cragar Rims were recently installed.
A brand new Tremec 5 Speed Transmission replaced the Muncie 4 speed, and that is mated with a 3:
56 Rear Axle Ratio and Positive Traction rear end.
A new Heavy Duty Hydraulic Clutch was added at that time.
Along with the engine rebuild a new Factory Correct Fan Shroud, Flex Fan, and a new 4 Core Radiator were installed, with a 180 degree thermostat.
A new 650 CFM Edelbrock Carburetor was installed too.
All interior was replaced in 2018, and a new Factory correct console was installed at that time.
In 2020 the complete car was stripped down to the metal, surfaces were prepared for primer, and the entire car was painted, and several coats of clear coat was applied.
The entire process took 8 months.
The car has Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, Rear Drum, Vintage Air Conditioning, New Master Cylinder, brake lines, wheel bearings, and both rear axles have been replaced.
This is a very solid car that has been well taken care of.
Whatever needed replacing I replaced, and tried to make this vehicle as reliable as possible, and it is.
You can feel very confident in driving this car anywhere you want without any mechanical issues.
If it needed to be replaced, it was.
This car has less than 1,500 miles on it since the rebuild.
The car has been taken to local car shows, and driven short distances on weekends, but most of the time it is garage kept.
