Medical Research Technician

The Medical Research Technician performs acquisition of flow cytometry samples in the Flow Core Laboratory at TNPRC. Operates, maintains and troubleshoots Becton-Dickinson Flow Cytometers, specifically the LSRFortessa, the FACSVerse, and the FACSAria II. Stains whole blood samples for absolute count determinations. Maintains records of flow cytometry experiments performed, maintains archive of all raw data files, and distributes results to primary investigators via the LAN along with relevant technical notes and/or acquisition plots.
Knowledge of BSL-2 and preferably BSL-3 compliance and standard operating procedures
Strong computer skills
Strong communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel software applications
Proficient use of common laboratory equipment
Ability to order reagents, keep laboratory records, prepare laboratory stocks
Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines
Previous experience/training with Becton Dickinson cytometers/sorters
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
One year experience working in a research laboratory environment
Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist certification
One year medical laboratory experience using automated laboratory instrumentation
Flow Cytometry experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
