Radiology Director - Full-Time - AVALA Hospital - RH203

Summary The Radiology Directorwill oversee the daily operation of the radiology department and provideservices timely and efficiently at appropriate levels to all patients and inall settings served by the department.
Assumes primary responsibility for ALL radiologymodalities, including the supervision of radiologic technicians.
Provides allaspects of imaging and fluoroscopic support during surgical procedure.
The directorwill perform tasks and duties as outlined per hospital policy andprocedure.
Will oversee administrativetasks and will maintain clinical competencies through participation ineducational and orientation programs.
Always works as a team member within the entire facility.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Director Responsibilities Provides radiology services by directingand coordinating the services of radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures,overseeing staff in operation of imaging equipment, such, as x-ray machines,fluoroscopes, computerized tomography (CT) scanners, or magnetic resonanceimaging (MRI) equipment.
Accomplishes radiology human resourceobjectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching,counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations;planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensationactions; adhering to policies and procedures.
Meets radiology operational standards bycontributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementingproduction, productivity, quality, and patient-service standards; resolvingproblems; identifying system improvements.
Meets radiology financial standards byproviding annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifyingvariances; recommending corrective actions.
Supports patient care by resolvingradiology issues with physicians, radiologists, radiology technologists, andancillary staff, improving and maintaining quality assurance program fordepartment functions.
Improves quality results by evaluatingaccuracy and quality of images; providing technical assistance; implementingnew techniques, equipment, and procedures.
Provides statistical reports bycontrolling the collection of treatment and clinical data.
Provides a safe environment by monitoringradioactive exposure of staff and patients; keeping staff and patients safe,controlling radium loading and handling techniques; maintaining radium records.
Prepares students for technicalresponsibilities by coordinating clinical rotations and training for radiologytechnology students.
Serves and protects the hospitalcommunity by ensuring adherence to professional standards, hospital policiesand procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and DNV standards.
Updates job knowledge by participating ineducational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintainingpersonal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Enhances radiation oncology and hospitalreputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests;exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Answers the telephone and intercom in a timelyand polite manner.
Assistsother staff members as needed with transferring and transporting patients, andperforming any duty that enhances the delivery of patient care.

Three - Five years' supervisory/managerialexperience required and must have a working knowledge of all modalities ofdiagnostic radiology.
One year working competency in one section of otherspecialized area:
C-arm utilization in surgery.
Advanced Orthopedic and SpineCertification Requirements(CR.
1c) As part of the AdvancedOrthopedic and Spine Certification, at a minimum, the Program direct-carestaff, must have one (1) hour of education specific to the Program scope,initially, and at least annually thereafter.
(CR.
1e) As part of the AdvancedOrthopedic and Spine Certification, staff possess adaptability to processes asrelated to up-to-date best practices, collaboration between departments,compliance with protocols/processes, communication, cooperation and exceptionalcustomer service.
Within 90 days of hire or, ifcurrently employed, within 90 days of signing the job description, must adhereto:
Orientation of Advanced Orthopedic and SpineCertification.
In compliance with the Program educationrequirements.
Completed department specific competencies.
Skills Ability to communicate effectively in English,both verbally and in writing.
Basiccomputer knowledge.
