Summary:
Participates and assists Director in the planning, organizing, budgeting, and operating of the retail side of the Food and Nutrition Services department.
Responsible for managing all retail functions within Food and Nutrition Services including cafeteria, sidewalk bistro, retail vendors, vending, and future growth.
Responsible for retail personnel, retail fiscal management, marketing, food quality, food safety, cleanliness, sanitation, and regulatory compliance with the Joint Commission, Department of Health, and other regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics or Food Service Management preferred, Associate Degree or graduate of hospitality or restaurant management program required.
Three years of retail operational foodservice management experience required, depending upon formal degree or training.
Certified Dietary Manager preferred ServSafe Foodservice Manager Certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire This position may be considered essential during emergency conditions.
Must be able to work during internal and external disasters.
Must be flexible, scheduling hours, days according to the needs of the department.
Possesses working knowledge of computer software, including but not limited to:
Microsoft Office, Computrition, and Agilysys.
Possesses knowledge of the management of people and budgets in the Healthcare setting, Quality Control, and Process Improvement, as well as excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
Must be a strong communicator and able to communicate and work collaboratively with multiple hospital departments.
Must always demonstrate and uphold leadership expectations and CARES standards.
Must hold direct reports accountable for meeting CARES and job specific standards.
Responsible for meeting metrics and colleague engagement of direct and indirect reports.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess good physical health.
Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
Lifting at least 10 pounds is required.
Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
