Tax Manager

Responsibilities Reviews and manages tax returns, extensions, and tax planning calculations Prepares complex federal and state income taxes and estate and gift taxes Supervises and manages large tax engagements Identifies solutions for client issues Completes assignments within budgeted time frame and within firm quality standards Assigns projects to appropriate team members Recognizes opportunities to provide additional services to new or existing clients Assists in business development by meeting with potential clients Maintains long-term focus on client relationships by maintaining client contact with appropriate individuals throughout the year Coaches, develops, and motivates fellow staff members, including interns through senior associates Assists in the development and training of new staff Recruits for future staff hires Credentials and Experience Bachelor of Science in Accounting Master of Science in Taxation preferred but not required CPA certification required 4-8 years of public accounting experience with a national or regional firm in their tax department Knowledge and Skills Strong knowledge and experience in tax preparation and review Strong knowledge of authoritative federal and state taxation including income taxes and estate and gift taxes Ability to manage multiple projects with consistency and accuracy High level of professionalism Ability to work in a team environment High sense of urgency Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines Strong oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Recommended Skills Accounting Business Development Calculations Communication Income Tax Leadership Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
