Responsibilities:
- Inspect the facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures for all areas of the company, to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Schedule of routine inspections.
-Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues and implement preventative measures.
- Create and schedule safety training programs for employees at all levels to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant safety laws and regulations, such as OSHA, HACCP, and food safety standards.
- Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings, as well as prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
- Ensure safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible as needed.
- Maintain records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Investigates accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence - Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first-aid protocols.
- Conducts job hazard and personal protective equipment analyses.
Ensure employees are using appropriate PPE for respective tasks.
- Lead facility's Safety Committees.
- Stay up to date with industry safety practices and regulatory changes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Basic
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, or related field.
-Proven knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA and food safety standards.
-5
years of related experience in food manufacturing environment including refrigeration and wastewater.
-Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
